Hi, I’m Emma, a communications professional with a passion for storytelling, digital media, and creating meaningful connections through content. With over a decade of experience in website management, SEO, social media strategy, and digital content creation, I’ve honed my skills in crafting compelling narratives that engage audiences across multiple platforms.
Currently, I work as an Administrative Assistant for the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation, where I manage our social media, newsletters, video content, and support the team with various communication projects. My experience spans from producing engaging social media posts to managing paid ad campaigns, all while maintaining a focus on building community and driving results.
In addition to my communications work, I co-host the Recreation Elevated podcast, where we explore the beauty and challenges of Utah’s outdoor recreation spaces. Whether I’m behind the camera, crafting a newsletter, or editing a podcast episode, my goal is always the same: to create content that informs, inspires, and elevates.

My story
Born in Arizona and raised in rural Texas, I moved to Utah at 18. My first hike was up Bridal Veil Falls in Provo, and it was a life-changing experience. As I stood beneath the towering trees, I felt an overwhelming sense of something bigger than myself. The beauty of Utah’s outdoors captivated me, and from that moment, I was hooked on exploring nature.
For 10 years, I ran a car dealership, spending my free time hiking and camping. I never imagined that the outdoors could become more than just a passion—it could be a career. Like many, the pandemic was a challenging time, but for me, it also brought clarity. It closed doors I hadn’t realized needed closing and opened new ones I’d been waiting for, leading me to pursue a path I truly love.
At the heart of everything I do are three core values: joy, growth, and knowledge. I believe in finding joy in the journey—whether it’s tackling a new challenge at work or exploring a trail in nature, I approach life with a sense of enthusiasm and curiosity. Growth, both personal and professional, is something I constantly strive for. Every experience, success or setback, is an opportunity to learn and improve. I’m driven by the belief that knowledge is power, and I’m always eager to dive into new subjects, skills, or creative pursuits.
